Agate – is a variegated type of Chalcedony and is the zodiac stone for those born under the astrological sign of Gemini. Chakra application depends upon the stone’s color. Ametrine – is a variety of Quartz, being a mixture of Amethyst and Citrine and is a 3rd (solar plexus), 6th (brow/third-eye) and 7th (crown) chakra gemstone. Ametrine is said to have all the metaphysical properties of both amethyst and citrine combined, as well its own unique properties. Ametrine energies are said to stimulate the intellect and rid the aura of negative energy. Ametrine provides for balancing of the male/female qualities, stimulates the intellect and helps one to reach higher states more quickly during meditation, leading to peace, tranquility and cooperation. Andalusite – (pronounced Ann-dah-lou-sight) is a polymorph of two minerals; Kyanite and Sillimanite, usually displaying an X or cross pattern (fairy crosses) and is a 4th (heart), 5th (throat) and 6th (brow/third-eye) chakra gemstone. It encourages one to look at issues rationally by helping one to see the various sides to a problem or situation and to help one realize the self – sacrifice is okay, but never required. It is known to stimulate memory and recollection and promotes the chivalrous aspects of ones character and encourages moderation in all things.
Apatite – the wearing/carrying of Apatite is known to suppress hunger. Chakra application depends upon the stone’s color. Aqua Aura Quartz – are quartz crystals which have been enhanced with pure 24kt Gold, in a process that molecularly bonds the gold molecules to the quartz. Azurite – known as “The Stone of Heaven” it’s name comes from an Arabic word meaning blue. Blue stands for meditation and communication. It brings clarity and wisdom, and challenges us to rethink our knee jerk reactions and probe the depths of why we are reacting that way, giving us the opportunity to undertand the our hidden belief systems. Sacred to Egyptians and American Indians, Azurite improves communication with the spiritual world. It helps you to tap into the knowledge of the Universe, and provides new insight into all areas of life. Boji Stones – is the copyrighted and registered trademark for a concretion of Marcasite nodules. Their shape is usually round with some protrusion of platelets. Boji stones come in male, female and androgynous forms and in various sizes, generally from the size of a dime to as about as large as a silver dollar. The male stone is characterised primarily by the uneven, sharp, protruding patterns on their surface. The female stones are all smooth in their configuration. By rubbing two Boji stones together in the dark you can see sparks fly, and placed in a fire they will explode. Marcasite, although having the same chemical formula as Pyrite, has a different internal structure. Marcasite has a tendency to be more unstable than Pyrite, and it can crumble when exposed to air over a period of time. This rather undesirable property (which is described as “Boji death”) can be avoided by rubbing the stone between one’s fingers every now and then, in order to give it a protective layer of oil.
These stones attain their full power when they are used in pairs. Boji stones can transfer energy from the etheric to the physical body. It will clean, recharge and fill with positive energy, all of the voids or holes in the aura and the auric field. An effective “everyday” use of the Boji stone is facilitated by allowing it to remain in ones energy field; this will provide for continuous balancing of ones energy. It is not necessary that one be aware of the presence of the Boji in order for the balancing and alignment to occur. It is quite effectual to use a pair of Boji stones (female and male consisting of the “team”) to balance ones body and energy fields. Using the male on one side of the body and the female on the other side of the body (the reader will determine which side for which stone), the stones can be used to balance the acupressure or acupuncture meridians and to remove energy blockages.
Blockages are often not removed in one session, but the decrease is usually quite apparent. It should be noted that when one begins work with the Boji, an accepted method is to hold the stones in the fingers (one stone in the fingers of one hand and the other stone in the fingers of the other hand), moving the stones towards and then away from each other; then turn one over and go through the procedure again; then turn the other over and go through the procedure again – whichever position the Bojis maintained when the strongest sensation (push or pull or tingling, etc.) occurred is the position of the greatest power for the stones. In addition, it is an excellent grounding stone.
Black Obsidian – A variety of volcanic glass, Black Obsidian is an especially protective stone, excellent for protection against psychic attacks and removing negativity. It sharpens and focuses internal and external vision, and helps to find the hidden factors surrounding a situation so that we may take the best course of action to address it. It is also stabilizing and helps us to retain our balance in times of change. An excellent grounding stone, and very healing. Used for “gazing” or “scrying” it can provide us with insight into the future.
Black Star Diopside – is used to stimulate the intellect and provide assistance in mathematical and analytical pursuits and is a 1st (base/root) chakra gemstone. It enhances academic learning and couples the practical side of ones nature to both the sciences and arts. It allows one to understand the duality within the self, and further stimulates retrieval of the feminine side of nature, being a good stone for healing those who will not allow themselves to cry. It has also been used to calm pets.
Black Tourmaline – A powerful electromagnetic mineral, uses include strengthening body and spirit. Helps move lower frequency thoughts and energies to a higher frequency of light. Long used by shaman among African, Native American and Aboriginal tribes. Protects you and your environment from negative influences and personalities, used in purification rituals. It neutralizes distorted energies. Deflects and repels any negative forms of energy and is especially effective against psychic attack. Great for grounding in times of stress and after healing. Calcite is colorless or white, but can become green, pink, peach, golden, orange, yellow, red, blue, grey, or black when other compounds blend with it during formation. Calcite releases electrical impluses when placed under pressure and is an energy amplifier. Cats Eye Chrysoberyl – Of all commonly used – natural – gemstones, chrysoberyl is only surpassed by corundum and diamond in its hardness and brilliance. The name is derived from the Greek “golden beryl”, but it differs much from beryl both in chemical composition as in crystal structure. Chrysoberyl -as a gem – is yellow to green in color with two transparent varieties, namely the color changing Alexandrite and Cymophane (Chatoyant or Cats Eye Chrysoberyl ). In the chrysoberyl variety cymophane, microscopic tubelike cavities or needlelike inclusions occur in an orientation parallel to the c-axis producing a chatoyant effect known as “Cat’s Eye Chrysoberyl”, visible as a single ray of light passing across the crystal. Cat’s Eye Chrysoberyl has the longest history of gems in the chrysoberyl family. It was treasured in Asia before the birth of Christ and became quite well known in Rome by the end of the First Century. In the symbolic necklace of Vishnu, a green cats eye chrysoberyl represented the magnetic center of human passion.

Carnelian – is a member of the Chalcedony family, as well as the alternate birthstone for the month of July, the zodiac stone for those born under the astrological sign of Virgo and a 2nd (sacral/naval) chakra gemstone. Carnelian grounds and anchors one into their present surroundings. It improves and stimulates analytical capabilities and clarifies perception. It motivates success in business, aids positive life choices and dispels apathy. Carnelian heals the etheric body and clears extraneous thoughts in meditation. Spiney Oyster Shell – more formally called spondylus brodnip princeps or spondylus princeps, is found in the Sea of Cortez off Baja California, Mexico. Spondylus is a Latin word meaning “spines on its back.” Brodnip is the name of the scientist who traveled with Cortez on his exploration of Baja California. The shell comes in three main colors: red, orange and purple, and sometimes is found in white and yellow. It was used in jewelry before coral became available. It was the shell most loved by the Mayan people, and has been found in abundance in archaeological excavations of the Anasazi, Mogollon and Hohokam of Southwest. In 1976, Native Americans of the Southwest began to export purple spiny oyster shells for jewelry making, popularizing their use abroad. Many Native American artists use spiny oyster shell. Members of the tourmaline family of minerals have basically the same crystal structure, but occurs in many colors, each with their own name.
Red or Pink tourmalines are called Rubellite, these are the most highly prized.
Neon Blue (turquoise), Green, Blue, Mauve and Violet (Paraiba) tourmalines are named after district in Brazil they were found in. They are the highly sought after and the most expensive.
Dark Blue tourmaline is called Indicolite, an is often heat treated to lighten it’s color and create a more attractive stone.
Bi-colored or Multi-colored Gem Tourmaline (Elbaite) contains bands of distinct colors including green, blue, pink and clear.
Brown or dark colored tourmaline is called Dravite, and it’s color is often lightened with heat treating.
Colorless tourmaline is called Achroite, it is particularly rare, but may be produced by heat treating pink tourmalines.
Watermelon tourmaline are pink in the center and greenor blue on the rim.
Black iron rich tourmaline is called Schorl and it is very common.
Yellow tourmaline or yellow-green is often simply called by it’s color.
Green tourmaline is called Verdilite. The green form of this stone was often confused with the emerald until the 18th century.Achroite (colorless tourmaline) is a stone of higher consciousness.
