Profits, Prestige and Andara crystals: The Untold Story – part 1

Many friends and customers have asked me what is the difference between Monatomic Andara crystals that I carry and write about and the so called Indonesian andara obsidian, anela andara, and the host of other obsidian or glass using the andara moniker.  As one of the few people intimately involved with its history, I have an insiders knowledge on what really went on behind the scenes.

Customers and others have been told that they are the same as Monatomic Andara crystals, while other vendors claim that they are a lower frequency of andara and are better suited to the beginner than true Monatomic Andara.  And then there are the esoteric birth stories of the new anela andaras.

Where can one find the hidden truth buried in this crowded field of claims, stories, trade marks and authorized dealers?  If you Google “Andara Crystals” you will get over 19,000 hits or websites.  There are several exporters from Indonesia and the Philippines that deal exclusively in what they now call andara crystals in all colors of the rainbow.

Marketing the Andara crystal name has become big business around the world.  You can now order them by the kilogram from the Philippines, in a variety of colors.  Jewelry and carvings are also exported.  If you don’t believe me, do a search on Ebay, you’ll find hundreds of listings from specimens to jewelry.  From Google to Ebay, the average person is overwhelmed with choices and possibilities.

So where does one draw the line, what is a true, authentic Andara?  By going back to the original source, we can begin to find some answers.  Before the publicity, before the myths, before anyone claimed ownership of them, the original, the High Sierra Mountains of Northern California Monatomic Andara crystals were being used by a small group of healers and light workers in California.  Little was known about them at the time, other than the channeled work by Tehuti / Thoth.  It stayed that way for many years, with very few people ever hearing of them.  That was about to change.

In 2002, one of the light workers by the name of Peggy Black, came to the island of Kauai.  She always traveled with a small collection of andara crystals and wore a pendant of one around her neck.  At that time, our store was only a few months old, and my wife and I were always on the lookout for new and unusual crystals.

I immediately noticed Peggy’s pendant, bright and full of light, and asked what type of crystal it was.  She told me that is was an Andara crystal, a very powerful healer and protector.  I had never heard of that crystal before, and Peggy gave me a brief history of them.  I knew then that I had to get one for our store, and asked her where I could purchase one.  Peggy replied, “ I always carry a few with me for that purpose, I don’t sell them but I will trade for them”.  With that said, I acquired some from her.

A few days later, my wife Linda was viewing the wire-wrapped crystal work of a jeweler when I received the message that one of the Andara crystals was to be gifted to that person.  While waiting for a pause in their conversation, one of the andara pieces shown brighter than the rest.  This was the gift piece.  Upon gifting that andara to her, the jeweler exclaimed that she had been looking for a andara piece exactly like it.

This is where Monatomic Andara crystals really shine, synchronicity.  That exchange opened the door to contact with the rest of the light workers group.  And within two weeks, Life’s Treasures was carrying Andara crystals for sale.  As previously written about in this article “How to Distinguish True Andara Crystals”, Andara crystals were very special and treated that way. 

Back then, the Andara crystals were not on display, but kept hidden from view.  My staff took a while to understand this.  I told them that they would know when to take them out.  And sure enough, the Andara crystals always came out at just the right time.  Life’s Treasures became known for quality, hard to find, high energy crystals. 

As the weeks went by, my staff and many of my customers repeatedly asked me to write down all of the info on the Andara crystals I had researched.  As a IT Analyst and expert in Information Retrieval Systems and Data Mining and Research, I wrote an article entitled  “Andara Crystals – Bridging Science, Metaphysics, and Healing” to be passed out with each Andara Crystal from “Life’s Treasures Hawaii”, our retail store back then.  This was in the summer of 2002, and I included the copyright byline to Life’s Treasures.

From that moment forward, Andara crystals and the Article went out to the four corners of the world.  Who would have thought that this little Gift shop, on a small island in the middle of the Pacific, would turn out to be the crossroads for Monatomic Andara crystals to touch the lives of so many.
